Description

Stinger-resistant swimming enclosures have supported the growth of tourism in North Queensland by offering protection against the deadly box jellyfish. However, the much smaller Irukandji can pass through the enclosure net and beaches must be closed when they are present. A model developed through the project will help identify when closures are necessary.
