Fitzroy Island Coral nursery tree

Australia's first coral nurseries have been established at Fitzroy Island. NESP project 4.3 - Best practice coral restoration for the Great Barrier Reef, has provided scientific and logistical support to the deployment and monitoring of the nursery structures. The picture shows one coral nursery tree with coral fragments attached. These fragments will grow and eventually be outplanted on a restroation site.
