Coral nubbins from the benthic light variability experiment

Experimental replicates of the corals Acropora millepora (branching species) and Pachyseris speciosa (place-like species) from one tank of the benthic light variability experiment. Each tank was exposed to different light intensities, either at a constant or varying rate. The blue cylinder at the centre of the image is a logger recording the light environment within the tank.
