Real-time observing station (Thursday Island)

Real-time observing station at Madge Reef near Thursday Island, Torres Strait. AIMS operates a network of Automated Weather Stations (AWS) along the GBR that provide real time data every thirty minutes on above water meteorological conditions and in-water temperatures. This weather station measures air pressure, air temperature, humidity, light, rain, water temperature at 6.8 m, wind direction and wind speed. It has been operating since February 2012.
