Lowland eucalypt woodland invaded by rainforest species

Lowland eucalypt woodland which supports mahogany gliders has become invaded in places by rainforest species when traditional fire management regimes have been suspended. Filling in the spaces between the eucalypts, the rainforest trees prevent animals from gliding between trees, forcing them down to the ground where they are more susceptible to predation.
