A large bommie in Luncheon Bay at Hook Island in the Whitsunday Island group during October 2012. Fringing reefs in the Whitsunday Islands were in excellent condition. Management measures including marine park zoning, and the provision of vessel moorings and no-anchoring reef edge markers are providing significant benefits to coral reefs in high-use recreational areas such as the Whitsunday Islands.
