Green zones vs blue zones

There was little evidence that No-take Marine Reserves (NTMR) status exerted any influence on overall community of fishes or benthic organisms, with NTMR zoning status accounting for <1% of the total variation in reef fish and benthic community structure

The figure shows a comparison of structure of reef fish and benthic communities on NTMRs and fished reefs (2006 to 2012). Each panel is a visualisation of a redundancy analysis (RDA), accounting for differences due to latitudinal sector and zoning. Prior to analysis, all data were standardised (row centred); reef fish community data were then fourth root transformed while benthic data were square root transformed to reduce the effect of highly abundant taxa.
