Coral symbiont growth test for herbicides

Symbiotic microalgae of the genus Symbiodinium provide reef building corals with energy for growth and reproduction. We have developed the first standard test to measure the impact of herbicides on Symbiodinium growth. This test is being applied to emerging herbicides detected in the GBR.
